LISTING GUIDELINES

What gets listings approved.

Every listing is reviewed by our team before students see it. Edits to a live listing never take it down — they're reviewed while your approved version stays up. Here's what reviewers look for.

Be clear and complete

  • A title that says what you teach and for whom — “SS3 Physics for WAEC & JAMB”, not “Best lessons!!”
  • A tagline and teaching-approach blurb in your own words. Starter copy is fine to begin with, but specific beats generic.
  • At least four real topics you can help with.

Be honest

  • No guarantees you can't keep (“guaranteed A1”, “100% pass rate”).
  • Describe your real experience and qualifications — they're what win bookings.
  • One listing per subject. Genuinely different offerings (e.g. “Python for Kids” vs “Python for Adults”) are welcome as separate subjects.

Keep contact on TutorChum

  • No phone numbers, emails, WhatsApp/Telegram handles or social links anywhere in the listing.
  • Students message you through TutorChum — that's what keeps both of you covered by our payment protection and policies.

Use a quality cover image

  • At least 800×500px; 16:10 (e.g. 1200×750px) looks best on your card.
  • A clean photo or simple graphic related to your subject. No watermarks, text-heavy collages, or images you don't have the right to use.

What happens in review

  • New listings and edits to live listings are usually reviewed within a day.
  • While an edit is in review, students keep seeing your last approved version — your listing never goes down because you improved it.
  • If a listing isn't approved, you'll get the exact reason and a note from the reviewer by email and in-app. Fix it and resubmit from Settings → Subjects.
